The weaving process is roughly divided into three parts: weaving pile, jacquard and cutting pile. Use a fleece loom. The loom is also divided into three parts: velvet delivery car, float and weaving car. At least two people should be weaving, one person to weave wool, one person to board about 2 meters high jacquard car jacquard, weaving 1 meter a day. The production process is very complex and meticulous: first, a set of round steel wire or flat metal rod with grooves is used as a raising rod, and then the raising warp and ground warp are arranged according to 2:1, and the weaving ratio between the ground weft and the raising rod is 4:1 or 3:1, that is, a raising rod is put into each weaving 4 or 3 weft. When each pile rod is embedded, the whole pile warp or single or even number of pile warp is lifted to form pile circle. Every 10 meters or so, the fabric is removed from the loom and pulled out on the table board to form a pile of vertical rings. Floral velvet is the whole woven fabric is removed from the loom and placed on the table, printed and painted with white powder on the surface of the fabric first, and then use a hard steel knife to scratch the velvet circle with a pattern (called carving) to form a dense cluster of plush patterns, and then pull out the velvet rod, the unscraped part still maintains a ring shape, forming a uniform and tight velvet circle pattern. The pile and the pile circle set off each other, forming the flower velvet with distinct flowers.
Nowadays, velvet is becoming more and more popular and versatile. Some furniture items are also velvet fabrics, such as pillows, mattresses, sheets, etc., but the price will be more expensive.
