Velvet was the most prosperous during the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are two types of velvet: floral velvet and plain velvet. Flower velvet refers to the process of cutting a portion of the velvet loop into plush according to the pattern, so that it forms a pattern with the final broken coil, while velvet has a surface entirely composed of velvet loops. Generally, velvet is made of silk as raw material or warp thread, cotton yarn as weft thread, and then velvet is looped with silk (or rayon). During weaving, every four strands of yarn are woven into a pile rod (i.e. fine iron wire), and when woven to a certain length, a cutting knife is used on the machine to cut along the iron wire, forming plush.
