1. The raw material of velvet is 22-30 cocoon grade A raw silk. Silk is also used as the warp and cotton yarn is the "ground" interwoven with the weft. Looped with silk or rayon. Both warp and weft yarns are degummed or semi-degummed, dyed, twisted and then woven.

2. The weaving process of velvet fabric is roughly divided into three parts: weaving, jacquard and cut velvet.

3. Use a pile loom for velvet fabric. The loom is also divided into three parts: velvet feeding car, jacquard car and velvet weaving car. At least two people are needed during weaving, one person weaves the velvet, and the other person has to board the jacquard cart about 2 meters high to weave 1 meter per day.

4. The production process of velvet fabric is very complicated and meticulous: first, a set of round steel wires or flat metal rods with grooves are used as the pile rods, then the pile warp and the ground warp are arranged according to 2:1, and the weaving of the ground weft and the pile rod is The input ratio is 4:1 or 3:1, that is, a pile rod is inserted after every 4 or 3 wefts. When each pile bar is inlay-woven, all the pile warps or odd or even numbers of pile warps are lifted to form pile loops. Every time the fabric is woven for about 10 meters, it is removed from the loom and placed on the table to pull out the pile rod, forming a towering flat row of loop-like pile loops.

5. To make floral velvet, remove the entire woven fabric from the loom and place it on the table. Use white powder to print and draw the pattern on the surface of the fabric, and then use a hard steel knife to cut the velvet with the pattern. The "scraped" part of the circle (called carving) forms a dense and dense cluster of plush patterns, and then the raising rod is pulled out. The unscratched part still maintains a ring shape, forming a uniform and tight pile loop pattern. The pile and pile loops complement each other to form floral velvet with clear flower ground.

Velvet fabric is one of our commonly used clothing fabrics in autumn. What are the advantages and disadvantages of velvet fabric? It must be a question that everyone is more concerned about.

2. Advantages of velvet fabric:

1. Velvet has fine texture, plump velvet, soft hand feel, comfortable wearing and beautiful appearance. It is elastic, does not shed, does not pill, and has good water absorption. The velvet is three times that of cotton products, and it does not cause any irritation to the skin.

2. The pile or loops of velvet are densely erected, the color is elegant, the fabric is strong and wear-resistant, not easy to fade, and has good resilience.

3. Velvet products require slender, high-quality cotton with low linear density, high grade, good maturity and long length.

4. The smooth drape, delicate touch and elegant luster of velvet are still unmatched by other fabrics, so it has always been the favorite choice of fashion designers for luxurious fabrics.

3. Disadvantages of velvet fabric:

1. Inadvertently stacking velvet clothing will damage the natural direction of the velvet, making it difficult to recover and prone to static electricity.

2. Due to the characteristics of velvet itself, the surface is composed of densely packed small fluff. During the production and processing of the fabric, some small fluff particles will remain on the clothes, which is inevitable. Generally, it will be washed out in the first few washes, especially on clothes with dark colors such as black, royal blue, and charcoal gray.
